Cooler & Ice Make sure your cooler is large enough to store all the beverages and food you are bringing. Keep in mind ice takes up space! Multiple coolers may be a good idea. I tend to dedicate one to drinks and one to food. If its a hot day you are going to want to stop for ice closer to the venue. 2. Drinks Beer is the most popular drink you'll find tailgaters enjoying. I'd say go with cans they are a safer bet. But if bottles are your choice, don't forget your bottle opener! Also, make sure you check that alcoholic beverages are allowed in the area you are tailgating.
